Young people, students, the next generation or whatever you want to call them. The future and what we can support now & shape positively to a small extent is very close to my heart. Thinking ahead, thinking outside the box and creating something together ... I've always been a proactive person. And I am more than ever in my self-employment.

This week I was able to visit 3 classes at the Munich University of Applied Sciences and talk about my experiences as a manager and self-employed person, as well as my path to getting there. Telling young people about my experiences, describing what was difficult for me and where I supported my employees took me back to my younger years. Discussing "What makes a good leader?" with the students showed me which people have shaped my working life and my career, in both positive and not-so-positive ways. I am very pleased and happy with my career, because I have always continued to develop and look for new challenges, and that suits my nature.
Conclusion of my guest lectures at Munich University of Applied Sciences:
➡️ Young people want a leader who is a role model.
Someone who is aware of their strengths and weaknesses, communicates these and has an overview and perspective of what is currently on the agenda and what goals need to be achieved. A mixture of empathy, caring, determination & expertise comes close to an ideal.
I will definitely continue to talk to young people about leadership, working in the hotel industry and other sectors, and what makes a good leader.
Many thanks to Simon Werther, professor at Munich University of Applied Sciences, for the invitation, to his colleague Celine Chang, whom I was able to meet again, and to all the students.
"Look for an employer who you see as a role model and who is a good leader for you. That simply makes so much difference in (working) life."
In my podcast for the hotel industry you can hear examples of very good employers; keep listening to GOLD _ your podcast with _ VALUE.😉🎙️✨
